Amherst College invites applications for the Casual Dish Crew - Pots/Pans. The Casual Dish Crew - Pots/Pans is a part-time, casual position with no benefits. The expected salary range for this job opportunity is: $ 16.00-18.00 per hour . The salary offered will vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to relevant education, training, and experience, tenure status, and other nondiscriminatory business considerations. The Casual Dish Crew - Pots/Pans supports the efforts of Amherst College Dining Services in providing the diverse campus community with excellent service and support in production of our menus. This position assists the culinary team by receiving, washing, and sanitizing all wares related to menu production according to industry standards for safety. This position is responsible for ensuring that all wares used in menu production are presented in a clean, sanitary, and organized fashion while providing essential support to the efforts of the kitchen team. The position is also responsible for helping to maintain a clean and organized work area by actively engaging in general cleaning duties while managing floor care, trash, compost, and recycling systems to college standards. Additionally, the position will assist in a supportive service capacity within kitchen operations. They work to ensure the highest quality and consistency of performance while maintaining the required standards of sanitation at all times. This position is a non-benefited, temporary casual role, 4 consecutive days schedule supporting lunch and dinner services not to exceed 1004 work hours per calendar year. During periods of peak service demands, this position may be asked to assist with supporting special events outside of the Dining Hall. As our work is central to student life, their needs occur at a variety of times throughout the day, week, and year, and as such, a flexible schedule with extended shift times is required. In addition, the position is designated as providing essential services and should report to work, or remain on duty even though the College is closed.
