Requirements

• BLS Certification.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Previous clinic experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as an Athletic Trainer, Licensed Practical Nurse, Medical Assistant, or Certified Surgical Technician.

Responsibilities

• Application, adjustment, and removal of various orthopedic devices.
• Wound care and dressing changes utilizing aseptic technique.
• Suture and staple removal.
• Assists with surgical procedures as directed by clinician.
• Communicates wound/skin/physiological conditions to clinician.
• Patient education regarding cast care, wound care, swelling, and use of splint/cast.
• Rooms patients and collects patient intake data.
• Checks and records patient vital signs.
• Charts documentation and manages telephone recording and reporting of conditions to clinician.
• Handles patient referrals, both internal and external.
• Manages supplies and equipment in department; reorders according to department use.
• Reports maintenance issues and adheres to safety policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
