About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Casing & Crating Transformer Assembler - 1st Shift. The hours for this role are 6am - 2:30pm The hourly rate for this position is $19.00 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time. What you’ll do: Job Summary Responsible for performing the final assembly operations of electricity transformers according to prescribed standard methods and procedures.

Requirements

  • 1 year of Relevant experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions as required.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, grabbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and using both hands to lift and lower materials, with or without accommodations.
  • Adhere to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as outlined below: Hand/Arm Gloves Over the Elbow Sleeves Eye/Face Safety Glasses Ear Ear plugs Foot Steel Toe Metatarsal Guards Work efficiently in hot environments and tolerate loud noises.
  • Demonstrates effective communication, attention to detail, adaptability, and a positive work ethic, comprehends written and verbal work instructions accurately, and upholds Eaton’s Values and philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks across various work centers, including: Tank-up, casing, small parts, vacuum chamber, cover bander, palletizing, and final assembly.
  • Attach and install critical component parts and sub-assemblies to transformer tanks (e.g., leads, bushings, brackets, fuses, switches, nameplates, arrestors, labels, stencils, bands, etc.).
  • Anchor core/coil assemblies into tanks, ensuring precision and quality.
  • Execute various hand assembly, fitting, and adjusting operations with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Retrieve, assemble, and securely attach covers, maintaining consistent standards.
  • Conduct temperature checks, install and inspect components, initiate and troubleshoot leak checks, repair leaking units, and perform fluid checks to ensure proper oil use.
  • Load, operate, and unload the vacuum system efficiently.
  • Use small power hand tools as required, demonstrating proficiency and safety awareness.
  • Follow written communications, including operating instructions (VOP), BOM lists, production schedules, and WSRA.
  • Expertly rework nonconforming parts and products to meet quality standards.
  • Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility.
  • Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Achieves and maintains target production rates or output levels, ensuring efficient operations and meeting organizational goals.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other manufacturing duties as assigned.
