About The Position

The position involves assisting customers and cashiers during the checkout process, bagging groceries, retrieving carts, and may include acting as a cashier. All Whole Foods Market Retail jobs require ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times. Team Members must be prepared to perform the duties inherent in other job descriptions and strive to support WFM core values and goals, promoting national, regional, and store programs and initiatives while adhering to health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Bags groceries.
  • Retrieves carts and baskets.
  • Cleans, sweeps, mops, stocks products, and helps ensure overall maintenance of the department.
  • May operate cash register equipment.
  • Assists supervisor in controlling customer flow and reducing customer waiting time.
  • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work.
  • Works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
  • Provides excellent customer service and addresses customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Models suggestive selling techniques.
  • Answers phones and pages promptly and courteously.
  • Maximizes sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  • Follows and ensures compliance with established procedures, including health and sanitation.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment.
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
  • Ensures accuracy of signs and pricing.
  • Reports safety hazards and violations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
