As a Cashier at Food City, you will provide efficient and courteous service to customers at all times, ensuring a smooth check-out experience. You will be responsible for scanning and ringing customer orders according to company policy, maintaining productivity standards, and ensuring that all items are credited to the correct department. You will also handle all funds taken for each transaction and assist the courtesy clerk in bagging groceries. Keeping your work station and surrounding area neat and clean is essential, as is knowing and following all state and local laws regarding beer and/or wine sales, as well as federal laws regarding WIC handling. You will be expected to follow company procedures for various payment methods and assist with light stocking duties as needed. Other responsibilities include taking weekly produce tests, ensuring all not-on-file items are recorded and turned in daily, and maintaining cleanliness in the bathrooms.
