About The Position

This role is for a Part-Time Cashier at Pauls Valley ACE Hardware. The primary responsibilities include operating a POS register, greeting customers, providing customer service, managing store promotions, understanding store layout, cleaning and stocking merchandise, following store procedures, and answering the telephone. Secondary functions involve assisting customers with merchandise loading, checking in freight, and organizing point of purchase materials.

Requirements

  • Ability to count change back
  • Professional telephone skills
  • Knowledge of merchandise
  • Ability to work flexible hours; including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Attention to detail, accuracy is key

Nice To Haves

  • H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred
  • Retail cashier experience is a plus
  • Ability to operate office machines, computers, and Excel is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Run POS (point of sale) register
  • Greeting customers upon entry of store
  • Customer Service (help customers find what they need in a professional and courteous manner)
  • Keep up with store promotions and special events
  • Understanding store layout and location of products
  • Cleaning and stocking impulse and endcap merchandise
  • Following store procedures, opening and closing
  • Answer telephone
  • Help load merchandise for customers
  • Help check in freight
  • Organize point of purchase material, maintain bin tags, shelf labels, and peg hooks
