About The Position

Works as part of a team to provide consistently exceptional customer service to those visiting Four Winds Travel Center. Responsible for the proper and efficient operation of the cash drawer under established policies and procedures assisting customers with their needs. This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Greets and assists customers positively and professionally consistently, while being efficient on time. Responsible for providing excellent customer service, being friendly, helpful, diplomatic, and tactful while addressing customers and co-workers. Efficiently operate cash register ensuring all transactions are rung through point-of-sale system and manage all tender types/cash receipts as outlined in policies. Accept, issue, and verify cash drawer. Completes required procedures at the start, during, and end of shift to ensure facility cleanliness and products stocked for sale using proper rotation procedures. Understanding of products available for sale, current promotions, rewards programs, and discounts available. Responsible for balancing cash receipts at the end of the shift. Protects company assets at all times. Maintains a clean and orderly register area at all times. Maintains good communication with co-workers and maintains a positive and professional work environment. Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age with current alcohol server certification before the first scheduled shift.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent plus three months of cash register, sales, and/or cash handling preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background investigation.
  • Must have customer service experience, be able to answer customer inquiries, and greet customers.
  • Must have cash handling experience including issuing change and balancing receipts.
  • Knowledge of cash register operations, sales methods, and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team and individually on specific tasks.
  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures and follow directives.
  • Must be alert and able to identify potential hazards to avoid them or report them immediately or take corrective measures.
