Requirements
- A friendly, positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle transactions accurately.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- A team player who enjoys working with people.
- Availability to work Part Time Evenings and Weekend Evenings.
- English proficiency
- Excellent time management, organizational and communication (oral, aural, and written) skills
- Detail oriented and able to multi-task and remain flexible to the changing needs of the business
- Regular, predictable attendance
- Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 10 pounds frequently, 20+ pounds occasionally
- Manual dexterity with ability to reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and fingers for extended periods of time
- Close-to-mid-range visual acuity to operate cash registers and focus on and/or read data and words on a computer monitor for extended periods of time
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to kneel, crouch, and bend occasionally required
Nice To Haves
- Prior cashier or customer service experience is a plus, but not required—we’re happy to train the right person!
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Previous customer service and cash handling experience
- Familiarity with natural foods, grocery industry or cooperatives
Responsibilities
- Greet customers with a warm, friendly attitude.
- Efficiently and accurately process purchases at the register.
- Share knowledge about co-op membership, specials, and store products.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming checkout area.
- Assist customers with questions and provide excellent service.
