The Cashier is responsible for the operation of cash registers, providing customer service, and maintaining shelf stock. Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 – 3 months of related experience and/or training
  • Exceptional analytical, judgment, decision-making and communications skills
  • Superior coaching, leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build understanding and consensus
  • Ability to read and interpret hard data and metrics.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and average.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra when working on spreadsheets.
  • Ability to create and manage departmental budget.
  • Ability to navigate through multiple program screens and easily use a computer, keyboard, mouse, 10-key and touchscreen.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of a Cashier.

Responsibilities

  • Operation of cash registers
  • Maintaining shelf stock; stocking the sales floor as needed and directed by store management
  • Answering phone inquiries
  • Maintain a safe/clean and well-merchandised store
  • Provide excellent customer service to a variety of customers.
  • Follow Goodwill’s cash handling policies and company procedures.
  • Willing to be a team player in order to accomplish competitive deadlines and goals.
