About The Position

The Cashier, also known as a Customer Service Clerk, works on the Frontend and is responsible for registering customer purchases at the checkstand. This role requires a thorough knowledge of check-out policies and procedures. The primary goal is to make the entire check-out process as pleasant and efficient as possible for the customer. Secondary duties involve related activities as required or assigned.

Must be available to be scheduled between 20-30hrs a week, primarily daytime shifts, based on department needs

Responsibilities

Registering customer purchases at the checkstand
Greeting the customer
Operating electronic registers
Scanning and/or hand ringing customer purchases
Tendering cash and non-cash transactions
Proofing checks
Handling coupons, food stamps, and vouchers
Making change
Maintaining a balanced drawer
Seeing the customer's purchase is bagged properly
Working the FastLanes
Interacting with the customer to make the entire check-out process as pleasant and efficient as possible
Performing related activities as required or assigned
