About The Position

Under the supervision of a Senior Cashier, performs varied assignment of limited complexity involved in the sale of beach tags; answers routine questions.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of: Arithmetic computation such as discount and interest, and how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.
  • Ability to: Count and record numerical data; perform basic arithmetic computations such as addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication; follow detailed oral and written directions; establish and maintain good working relationships with coworkers; deal courteously with the general public; maintain records and files; utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units; read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
  • Valid New Jersey State Driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Checks beach users for beach tags
  • Issues and collects money for beach tags
  • Answers questions and explains the city's beach tag policy
  • Counts money collected and reconciles with type and number of tags sold
  • Maintains control sheet
  • May hand out information brochures
  • Answers questions from the public
  • Performs other related duties as required
  • May drive to various beach tag sales locations and pick up receipts
