About The Position

Under the direction of the Recreation and Special Events Manager, along with the Head Lifeguard, operates the cash register and collects fees for pool admission or season passes. The City of Live Oak is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Cashier . This position is seasonal, with work hours from May through August. Candidates should also have the ability to work a varied schedule, which includes holidays, weekends, mornings, days, and evenings up to 40 hours per week as assigned. Weekly scheduled hours may vary and are not guaranteed. New and Returning Staff Members - Incentive Pay up to $400 Pay Rates : 1st Year Lifeguard/Cashier - $14.50 () 2nd Year Lifeguard/Cashier - $15.50 () Sr. Lifeguard - $16.50 () Lifeguard – Headguard - $20.00 () () Depending on experience. () New and returning staff members are eligible for incentive pay up to $400. Incentive pay is awarded based upon the successful completion of hours worked below, and the agreed upon summer completion date. Requirements

  • Skills/Abilities to: handle cash accurately and tactfully deal with the public.
  • Safety/Physical Requirements: Medium – Tasks involve bending, lifting, walking, carrying, and or using a force equal to lifting 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Operates cash register in the collection of fees for pool admission
  • Maintains positive public relations at the City Pool.
  • Notifies the Recreation and Special Events Manager or Head Guard regarding individuals who desire admission to the pool but may have health problems, that could be under the influence of intoxicants, or who are in bathing attire that violates the pool requirements, are disrespectful to staff, display unacceptable behavior, etc.
  • Assists with the opening and closing of the pool facility, including cleaning of the facility.
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential of the position.
  • Must follow and enforce pool policies and rules at all times.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate with both the public and staff effectively.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Maintains, inventories, and cares for City property and equipment.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of materials and supplies necessary to job duties.
  • Demonstrates cooperative behavior with team, supervisors, and the public.
  • Communicates with a wide range of people.
  • Provides information and directions.
  • Involves handling cash.
  • Perform other related duties that may be required.
