About The Position

The Cashier provides exceptional Customer Service while accurately processing transactions at the register. This role is responsible for scanning and ringing up purchases, handling payments and coupons, and ensuring Customers have a friendly, efficient checkout experience. The Cashier also helps maintain a clean, organized front-end area and supports stocking, cleaning, or bagging duties when needed.

Requirements

• Previous cashier or retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to accurately process transactions, coupons, and payments.
• Comfort using POS systems (training provided).
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
• Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted, and push/pull carts weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Operate a cash register to scan and ring up Customer purchases.
• Process cash, credit, debit, gift card, and coupon transactions accurately.
• Greet Customers warmly and assist with product or pricing questions.
• Issue receipts and ensure each Customer leaves with a positive experience.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free checkout station.
• Assist with bagging purchases and offer carryout help if needed.
• Support stocking and cleaning tasks at the Front End when not assisting Customer.
• Follow all Plum Market policies, procedures, and safety standards.
