About The Position
The Cashier is responsible for receiving money from and disbursing money to customers, while maintaining a high level of customer service at all times. The position requires identifying items and corresponding costs, tabulating bills quickly and accurately using cash registers or calculators, issuing receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers, and maintaining the cash register and its contents. Cashiers must greet customers, answer questions, provide information on products and promotions, and maintain a clean and orderly cash station area. They are also responsible for maintaining awareness of safety issues and reporting them to management.
