About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate (Softlines Associate) plays a crucial role in enhancing the shopping experience for Members at Sears. This position focuses on driving sales through excellent customer service, maintaining appealing displays, and ensuring that all apparel and home areas are well-organized and inviting. The associate is responsible for completing transactions accurately, assisting Members in finding products, and supporting various store initiatives.

Requirements

• Basic reading, arithmetic, and writing skills.
• Strong oral communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Capability to lift and hold bulky merchandise up to 50 lbs.
• Physical movements including reaching, stretching, pushing, and bending as required by the job.
• Basic Internet navigation skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Less than one year of related experience.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Enhance the Member experience at every touchpoint.
• Provide high-quality Member service by prioritizing their needs.
• Demonstrate effective selling behaviors and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Greet Members professionally and engage them in a Member First experience.
• Complete transactions accurately and efficiently using POS and online systems.
• Assist Members in locating products and making merchandise selections.
• Set and maintain promotional and seasonal signage as assigned.
• Perform promotional ad setup and take down without errors.
• Maintain sales floor to national merchandising and presentation standards.
• Assist store leadership in resolving Member issues when appropriate.
• Complete merchandise support tasks during non-peak hours.
• Stay informed about upcoming events and product updates.
• Adhere to merchandise protection standards.
• Keep the department organized, clean, and ready for Members.
