About The Position

As a Cashier at Meijer, you will craft quality customer experiences by providing efficient, effective customer service in the checkout lane that creates a positive and lasting impact on Meijer customers. You will learn all the responsibilities of a Cashier, including bagging, training, and serving as a self-checkout attendant. Your role will involve utilizing technology to complete activities and tasks, creating 'WOW' moments for customers, completing transactions, handling money responsibly, and maintaining accuracy in point of sale purchases. You will also be expected to use good eye contact and body language, display a friendly and outgoing attitude, and be prepared to handle customer questions adequately and appropriately. Building trustful relationships with customers to encourage return visits is also a key part of your responsibilities.

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older.
• Strong listening and communication skills, face-to-face and virtually.
• Willingness to learn or existing familiarity with job-specific technology.
• Problem-solving competence and eagerness to troubleshoot when necessary.
• Desire to work with customers.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented and organized.
• Friendly outgoing attitude.
• Ability to operate cashier register system.
