About The Position

The Cashier at Brazos Mercantile Co - Pecan Ace Hardware is responsible for managing register transactions related to the sale and return of merchandise. This part-time role emphasizes customer service, efficient checkout processes, and maintaining the appearance of the front end of the store.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2 years of cashier experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage register transactions for sales and returns of merchandise.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and thanking them by name when possible.
  • Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
  • Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly and courteously.
  • Communicate any issues that require management assistance.
  • Build product knowledge to assist customers with store layout and product location.
  • Assist in pricing, stocking, marking, and bagging merchandise.
  • Follow cash register transaction procedures and balance the register drawer.
  • Participate in store and cashier meetings.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front end and checkout areas.
  • Ensure impulse counters are stocked and merchandise is rotated as seasons change.
  • Call for cart pickups when necessary and inform management of merchandise returns.
