Job Title Cashier/ P-Card Administrative Support Summary Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Cashier / P-Card Administrative Support position is responsible for the posting and reconciliation of all payments received for the university. This role also assists the Business Office with processes in Chrome River, an expense management and accounts payable platform. Duties and Responsibilities * Record incoming payments to the University, whether from students, organizations or other JCU offices daily. * Reconcile the cash drawer daily. * Work directly with Student Enrollment and Financial Services (SEFS) to resolve issues or questions on student accounts. * Maintain historical records and source documents on student accounts receivables for support and review with students, departments, and auditors. * Document, in detail, into the online system all interactions with students, parents or third parties regarding collections of student accounts, including in-person, telephone or email correspondence. * Process student refunds weekly. * Test and implement new policies and procedures. * Answer questions, provide assistance, and resolve problems for students, parents, banks, student loan borrowers, and university personnel. * Perform other job-related duties as assigned. * Provide support, as needed, to the Business Office as it relates to Chrome River P-Card expense reporting software. Required Qualifications * Ability to analyze and solve problems, evaluate situations and make sound decisions. * Knowledge of accounts receivable and cashiering departments. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent customer service skills. * Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information. * Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations including the University community and the outside public. * Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. * Interest in understanding and supporting John Carroll's mission to inspire individuals to excel in learning, leadership, and service in the region and in the world. Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree * Previous cashiering experience. * Previous higher education experience. Normal Work Location, Hours and Conditions This position works in person from our campus in University Heights, Ohio. Generally, 27.5 hours per week as assigned. This position may require work to be performed outside of normal business hours. Physical Requirements Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other office locations and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Hours Part Time FLSA Non-Exempt (Hourly) Compensation & Benefits Starting salary will be $ 18.00 - $22.00 per hour.
