This position typically starts at $14 per hour + tips and works a variable schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members begin accruing PTO starting on day one, and full ‑ time employees are eligible for benefits after 90 days. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 yrs. of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum six months cash handling experience.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift, including holidays and weekends.
  • Work requires attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Work requires use of a computer and/or cash register.
  • Mathematical abilities including addition and subtraction/accurate record keeping.
  • Communicates effectively and maintains positive working relationships with guests, coworkers, and management.
  • Must pass the required background check.
  • Must obtain a County Food Handler’s Permit.
  • Report to work in a neat and clean uniform, with slip resistant shoes.
  • Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
  • Ability to work in a loud, fast ‑ paced environment while handling multiple tasks under time constraints.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to work independently along with a team mentality.
  • Must be able to handle a heavy business volume, and sensitive situations relating to staff and guest problems, in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, turn, push and pull, as well as lift and carry above/below the shoulders a minimum of 25 lbs. or more.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time or entire shift.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and handle multiple tasks in stressful situations.
  • Must be able to maneuver around office areas, effectively work in high traffic areas and responds to visual and aural cues.
  • Is able to tolerate areas containing second-hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; arrives on time in a clean uniform with required name tag, ID, and licenses, ready to work with a positive, ready ‑ to ‑ learn attitude.
  • Greets guests and team members warmly and professionally, supporting our Family Style Service culture.
  • Works a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Provides fast, friendly, professional and responsive customer service to restaurant guests and staff.
  • Engages in friendly conversations with guest whenever possible using EGE – Everyone Greets Everyone
  • Accurately inputs all orders into the Point of Sale (POS) terminal.
  • Accurately posts all transactions on the Point of Sale (POS) terminal giving correct change; accounts for all cash, charge and complimentary sales according to established procedure; maintains integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities.
  • Records all tips collected from credit cards and complimentaries.
  • Prepares specialty coffee drinks to order in accordance with established recipes and time guidelines.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service at all times.
  • Maintain appropriate level of stock items in area.
  • Assist in maintaining display cases and pastry par levels.
  • Keeps designated working area clean and organized and assists in maintaining cleanliness of surrounding areas, and condiment areas in accordance with established health and safety standards.
  • Assist in training new team members and management staff during their training period.
  • Responsible for periodic cleaning tasks assigned by management.
  • Resolve guest complaints expeditiously and inform management of the complaints.
  • Prepare and/or serve menu items.
