About The Position
Barmon Lumber Inc. is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cashier/Clerk for our Lumber Yard in Sultan, WA. This full-time position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, typically spread over five days. The starting wage for this role is $17 per hour, which may vary based on the candidate's experience. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position involves handling customer transactions, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service to our clients. As a Cashier/Clerk, you will be responsible for operating the Point of Sale (POS) system, which requires basic computer skills, particularly in a Windows environment. You will also need to perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate transactions. Physical demands of the job include the ability to lift up to 100 lbs, as you will be handling various lumber and building materials. Dependability and honesty are crucial traits for this role, as you will be entrusted with cash handling and customer interactions. The position requires flexibility, as you will need to work most Saturdays, while the yard is closed on Sundays and major holidays. Additionally, candidates must be able to pass a drug test and any relevant background checks. Forklift experience is considered a plus, as it may be necessary for some tasks within the yard.
