About The Position

The position involves applying payments from patients and third-party payers to accounts, determining and applying appropriate contractual adjustments based on contractual obligations with contracted payers, and verifying system balances for accuracy. The role ensures the financial integrity of UF Health Physicians by accurately processing and expediting payment and adjustment processes. Daily responsibilities include balancing assigned payment batches and reviewing credit balances to determine the appropriate course of action needed to resolve them accurately. Additionally, the position requires preparing batch documents for imaging.

Requirements

  • High school graduate required.
  • Above average math skills.
  • Keyboard and calculator proficient.
  • Prefer some college level business, finance or accounting courses.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in a business setting dealing with finance, accounting or collection systems.
  • Two-year degree may substitute for one-year experience in a business setting.
  • Must be organized, communicative, and have good problem-solving ability.
  • Must be able to adapt quickly within a high volume environment.
  • Prefer three years of general clerical experience.
  • Four-year degree may substitute for three years clerical experience and one-year experience in a business setting.
