About The Position

The Cash Processing/Funds Transfer I position at BNY Mellon is an entry-level role within the Global Payments and Treasury Services Operations team. This role is essential for monitoring client payments and daily cash and wire transactions, acting as the first line of defense in transaction management. The position requires a hybrid work schedule, with three days in the office, and focuses on ensuring the validity of transactions while addressing client inquiries and concerns.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• 0-3 years of total work experience preferred.
• Experience in financial services operations preferred.
• Prior payments processing experience highly preferred.
• Prior hands-on working experience with Fed, CHIPS, SWIFT preferable.
• Working knowledge of payment processing systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor client payments and daily cash and wire transactions.
• Act as a first line of defense by addressing flags raised by the transaction system.
• Triage and remediate during incident management events.
• Work closely with liquidity-driven reports in Microsoft Excel.
• Manage the daily processing of cash movements by bank clients and confirm transaction validity with managers and relationship managers.
• Monitor systems for flags on transactions without receipts or mismatches.
• Address items that failed the first round inspection by transaction systems.
• Act as a point of contact for clients and wire recipients, addressing inquiries and concerns about the transfer process.
