About The Position
As a Cash Posting Specialist at CommonSpirit Health, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our healthcare services. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately post payments to accounts receivable and apply denials using our collection tools, policies, and procedures. This position is essential in achieving departmental and hospital goals, ensuring that our financial processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will be expected to research all overpayments and ensure that batches balance with the remittances, which is vital for maintaining accurate financial records. In addition to payment posting, you will ensure that miscellaneous cash is posted to the correct General Ledger (GL) numbers. You will also be responsible for posting contractual agreements and other adjustments daily, ensuring appropriate account reconciliation and resolution. Effective communication is key in this role, as you will maintain and facilitate communication within both the business and clinical divisions. Responding professionally and promptly to telephone, email, and task inquiries will be part of your daily responsibilities. You will participate in staff meetings, performance improvement activities, and committees as assigned, utilizing the Issues Log when necessary. Meeting productivity standards for posting payments and denials is essential in your efforts to achieve claim resolution. This position may also involve other job duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency of the department.
