The Role: The Cash Application Specialist is a key member of the Cash Application team responsible for accurately and promptly processing incoming payments. This includes retrieving bank and credit card details, applying payments to customer accounts, resolving misapplications, and responding to internal and external inquiries. The role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Cash Application Supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
2–4 years of high-volume Cash Application experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
Proven customer-service orientation and ability to work with diverse personalities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities.
Adaptable, detail-oriented, and reliable.
Strong follow-up skills and ability to take direction effectively

Responsibilities

Retrieve daily bank and credit card payment information.
Research and accurately apply payments to the correct customer accounts.
Identify and resolve misapplied payments in a timely manner.
Make necessary account adjustments as needed.
Provide support to internal and external customers regarding cash-related inquiries.
Prepare and distribute daily cash total reports.
