About The Position
The Cash Application Representative (CAR) position at Select Medical is a temporary assignment based in Camp Hill, PA, designed to last for 60 days, with the possibility of extension. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate posting of all payments, discounts, and adjustments applied to patient accounts. The CAR will be responsible for reconciling payment batches to ensure they are balanced and will handle unidentified or misapplied payments on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. The position requires strong computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Google applications, as reliability and diligence are imperative for success in this role. The CAR will post all payments to patient accounts according to contractual agreements, including contractual discounts, adjustments, and refunds. They will also balance batches to the batch total and log totals posted, enter transfers in batches, and link all images posted to the system using imaging software. Cross-training in other related functions is expected to ensure smooth operations within the department and Central Business Office (CBO). Additionally, the CAR will analyze explanation of benefits (EOB) information to verify the accuracy of patient balances and investigate the source of unidentified payments, contacting payers as necessary to clarify the appropriate application of payments. Other duties or special projects may be assigned as needed.
