About The Position

The Casework Management Specialist Supervisor (CMSS) is a supervisory role within the Division of Child and Family Services, responsible for overseeing case management services for children and their families. The CMSS ensures that staff adhere to applicable regulations and court rules, prepares and administers training, and provides consultation and mentorship to caseworkers. This position requires a strong focus on compliance, accuracy in documentation, and effective supervision of staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, special education, human growth and development, criminal justice, psychology, counseling, social work, or a closely related field.
• Four years of professional experience providing case management services specific to children in a health and/or human services setting, including one year of supervisory experience.
• One year of experience as a Casework Management Specialist 4 in Nevada State Service, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in child welfare practice model.
• Familiarity with UNITY system and local court rules.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve the work of staff to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
• Educate staff on IVE requirements and local court rules.
• Prepare accurate court reports and updates, and be prepared to testify in court.
• Administer trainings on child welfare practices and relevant policies.
• Consult, coach, and mentor staff on individual cases.
• Provide weekly consultation/supervision to first-year caseworkers and biweekly supervision thereafter.
• Complete required UNITY windows consistently and timely.
• Ensure court reports are filed in compliance with local court rules.
• Alert appropriate personnel upon receipt of court recommendations/orders that cannot be complied with.
