About The Position

This Casework Associate I position is located in Morganton, NC at WorkSource West in Burke County. This position serves individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing and/or deaf-blind across several counties within the catchment area. The primary purpose of this position, under the supervision of the Unit manager or designee, is to assist individuals with disabilities in achieving their career and independent living goals by providing counseling, developing individualized plans, and coordinating services to help consumers overcome barriers to their disabilities and/or obtain and maintain gainful employment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline relative to the program served from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in an area related to program that provides experience in techniques of casework or counseling; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating professional diagnostic records and data to determine eligibility and required services
  • Developing and implementing individualized plans of rehabilitation services for eligible consumers
  • Arranging for appropriate evaluations and other services as indicated on the Individualized Plan for Employment
  • Interviewing consumers for the purpose of assessing need and overseeing the provision of planned services
  • Engaging in various administrative duties including case service documentation, caseload management, staff and other administrative meetings
  • Participating in training and professional development activities
