About The Position

The Case Worker position at The Salvation Army's Homeless Services unit in Las Vegas, NV, is a full-time role focused on assisting low-income and at-risk individuals and families. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Housing Specialist to identify suitable housing options, conduct assessments, and provide case management services. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• One (1) year of case work or related experience.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Knowledge of criteria for food, rent, and utility assistance processes.
• Ability to assess at-risk participants and situations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and file management skills.
• Ability to work in a team setting and prioritize responsibilities.
• Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
• Valid Nevada driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Homeless Services Housing Specialist to identify suitable housing for clients.
• Research private market landlord availability and conduct interviews with clients.
• Assess immediate and long-term needs for permanent supportive housing options.
• Assist the case manager in providing case management and needed services to low-income and/or at-risk individuals/families.
• Prepare and submit required reports and write accurate case notes in CMIS.
• Lead and teach classes related to banking, budgeting, and other basic life skills.
