About The Position
The position involves working collaboratively with an MD to coordinate and screen for the appropriateness of admissions and continued stays. The role includes making recommendations to physicians for alternate levels of care when patients do not meet the medical necessity for inpatient hospitalization. The individual will interact with families, patients, and other disciplines to coordinate a safe and acceptable discharge plan, functioning as an indirect caregiver and patient advocate while managing patients in a cost-effective manner without compromising quality. The position also requires transferring stable non-members to planned healthcare facilities and complying with AB 1203, Post Stabilization notification, along with other duties as described. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, multitask, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
