How you’ll contribute A Case Manager who excels in this role: Tasks or functions that are fundamental to the position include: Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and use of therapeutic communication skills including empathy, reflection, and clarification. Empower Consumers with severe mental illness to manage their illness, find their own goals for recovery, and make informed decisions about their treatment. Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to build a network of formal and informal supports for the client and family. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding recovery’s core elements, change process, social, and role functioning. Use timely documentation to describe progress toward objectives, barriers to change, and identify new objectives as recovery progresses. Demonstrate the ability to set clear objectives, goals, and expectations and follow through with them effectively. Model healthy coping skills effectively uses stress-vulnerability reduction strategies. Demonstrate effective use of motivational, educational, and cognitive-behavioral interventions. Use clinical consultation and/or supervision when appropriate. Exemplify collaboration in behavior and communication.
