About The Position

The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges; those who have suffered a trauma; and those at risk, to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for a Case Manager -Rehabilitative Services Associate (RSA) - Employment Specialist in Elgin, IL who demonstrates this mission and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference in the community. What you will be doing? Responsible for developing and implementing individual programs to maximize the clients’ independent community living skills related to employment. Responsible for coordinating services to meet criteria of Milestone, SEP, and IPS (Individual Placement Services) by following the guidelines of IPS, and the Employment First Program to assist clients in obtaining and maintaining employment that is consistent with their preferences. Engage in job development/networking in the community approximately 65% of the work week. Complete daily documentation of services and IPS activities provided in accordance with state and agency standards as applicable. Work with a team of various service providers within the agency to ensure a positive client-centered approach. A minimum of one Client Centered Consultation for each client is required by all treatment team staff to ensure collaboration across programs with periodic updates to maintain this collaboration. Engage clients toward the goal of competitive employment in community job settings. Meet with all assigned clients on a regular basis depending on program and client needs; turn in completed assignment sheets or billing logs on a weekly basis. Conducts a minimum of six (6) in person contacts each week with people who have hiring authority.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • License/certifications: Must obtain CESP certification after 1 year of employment
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in behavioral health or experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
  • Physical: Navigation of stairs
  • Ability to move about in the work environment and to regularly visit multiple work sites within the entire service area. Driving a car is required
  • Ability to be able to assist clients in training in Labor focused positions
  • Equipment: Computer including Microsoft Office Suite Applications, Copy Machine, Fax Machine, Scanner, Telephone with voice mail system
  • Additional Requirements: The use of personal automobile, a valid driver’s license, and the minimum amount of liability insurance as defined by AID’s Personnel Policy. Will require use of employee’s personal automobile
  • Must acquire and maintain certifications in First Aid, CPR, Non-violent crisis intervention training, CEU’s and other relevant trainings
  • Flexibility in work hours required
  • Computer skills, experience with data entry, word processing and spreadsheets
  • Must be capable of verbal and written communication
  • Neat and professional appearance
