This position is a member of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team and is responsible for providing direct support and services to individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder. The Peer Support Specialist will draw on their own experience as a consumer of mental health case management services to provide peer counseling and direct support, as well as model wellness and assist individuals in their recovery. This position collaborates with community partners to ensure client needs are met. The Peer Support Specialist shares their knowledge of the recovery process, symptom management, stigma, and traits needed to be successful with coworkers.
