Inaugurated in 1991 and funded by the New York City Department of Homeless Services, Helen’s House is a transitional housing program that provides temporary accommodations with on-site social services for 16 single parents and their children up to nine years old. During their stay, each family is housed in a furnished, efficient apartment and has access to on-site social services that address the psychological and concrete causes and effects of homelessness and unemployment. The Case Manager/Housing Specialist is an integral member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, serving as the primary contact for our families and outside providers as they support families with rebuilding their lives while managing housing concerns.
