About The Position

The Case Manager for Residential Well-being at Virginia Tech plays a crucial role in supporting students facing various challenges. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience in a human services field, or a Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
• Experience advising and providing advocacy for individuals while managing confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to maintain a positive outlook and problem-solve in ambiguous situations.
• Skill in interpreting and applying policies through a student-centered lens.
• Commitment to inclusive practices that recognize intersectionality and support student well-being.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for students needing support, including mental health issues, relationship conflicts, and academic challenges.
• Triage issues and provide referrals to appropriate resources.
• Coordinate and communicate with university partners to ensure follow-up and support for students.
• Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation of student interactions and support provided.
• Work closely with Care Team, Student Conduct, and the Office of Equity & Accessibility to elevate issues as needed.
• Participate in a developmental plan with opportunities for career advancement within the department.
