About The Position

Under direction, provides direct and indirect service to persons served, their families and designated others for the Clubhouse Program. Promotes persons served access to and engagement with community-based resources. Utilizes clinical methods and assists in program functioning and participates in the National Clubhouse Training and Accreditation process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Counseling or other mental health related field.
  • Must meet qualifications as specified in the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan (PIHP)/Community Mental Health Services Programs (CMHSP) Qualifications per Medicaid Services as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP): 1. Individual with specialized training (including fieldwork and/or internships associated with the academic curriculum where the student works directly with persons receiving mental health services as part of that experience) OR one (1) year of experience in treating or working with a person who has mental illness; and is a psychologist, physician, educator, with a degree in education from an accredited program, social worker, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist, audiologist, behavior analyst, registered nurse, therapeutic recreation specialist, licensed/limited licensed professional counselor, licensed or limited licensed marriage and family therapist, or a licensed physician’s assistant; or 2. A human services professional with at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field
  • Possession of required state licensure appropriate to position and ability to meet privileging and credentialing guidelines
  • Must possess and maintain a current Michigan Chauffeur’s license within two (2) weeks from date of hire
  • Knowledge of: Applicable computer applications
  • Michigan Mental Health Code and its rules and regulations
  • Working understanding on practices for adherence to Medical Services Administration (MSA) Medicaid policies and procedures
  • Techniques to de-escalate/interact in potentially dangerous situations
  • Skill in: Using good professional judgment for the welfare and safety of our persons served
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Analyzing information and completing reports
  • Ability to: Collaborative: Approaches all situations with a teamwork and solution focused mindset demonstrated through active participation in meetings, volunteering to assist teammates and other departments as appropriate.   • Complies with P.A. 390, as amended, known as the State’s Emergency Management Act and the County’s Emergency Management resolution as well as all related plans, policies and procedures covered by those statutes.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Counseling or other mental health related field
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience working in a behavioral health setting
  • Effectively speak, write, and understand a language other than English is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implements Clubhouse Program components, participates in research and program evaluations and monitors, collects and develops record keeping data and statistics.
  • Completes Macomb County Community Mental Health (MCCMH) record keeping requirements, including clinical records and statistical reports.
  • Monitors and initiates action to ensure that maximum standards of efficiency and productions are promoted and upheld.
  • Ensures program compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Performs equipment and site maintenance oversight.
  • Works cooperatively with members of other disciplines, along with other agencies and community providers, to ensure timely and accurate service provision.
  • Monitors customer services through face-to-face contact with persons served, facility visits, consultation with family members, significant others, and service providers.
  • Develops effective relationships with service providers, home staff, and families.
  • Complies with MCCMH documentation requirements using electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Maintains professional relationships with the provider community and persons served.
  • Measures the effectiveness of interventions to determine outcomes and identify the needs of persons served.
  • Operates an automobile while performing assigned job duties.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
