Seneca Foods in Janesville, WI is currently seeking a Case and Label 4 in 1 Machine Operator to join our team.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Operate brite stacker equipment.
  • Use a touch screen computer monitor.
  • Accurately enter inventory date on the touch screen.
  • Maintain a constant flow of product to the label machine.
  • Remove cans with defects and properly sort between salvage and destroy.
  • Closely monitor product to reduce the risk of mis-labels.
  • Operate label machine.
  • Properly apply labels to cans.
  • Fill the glue pot and tank.
  • Perform minor adjustments to label machine.
  • Recalibrate dud detectors as needed.
  • Perform various checks to reduce the risk of mis-labels.
  • Operate manual and/or semi-automatic packaging machines.
  • Maintain supply of trays, boxes, glue, tape, shrink film, etc.
  • Perform minor machine adjustments.
  • Perform checks to reduce the risk of mis-labels and box/tray prinit errors.
  • Randomly inspect cans for shiners or poorly applied labels.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with management and fellow employees.
  • Perform basic housekeeping duties in the work area.
  • Requires the ability to bend, lift, carry, push and pull varying weights up to 50 pounds, sometimes in awkward positions.
  • Job entails climbing, extensive walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Perform any other work as may be required or assigned by management.
  • Ability to work the scheduled hours as necessary.
  • Print inventory tags for labeled product by using a computerized inventory system.
  • Correctly apply inventory tags to pallets.
  • Manually prepare count sheets (labeling summaries).
  • Operate print-and-apply sticker machines as needed.
  • Basic operating knowledge of case stackers & stretch wrappers.
  • Inspect each pallet & verify that the labels, box/tray printing, & stickers are correct.
  • Be a communications link between the labeling crew and the Case & Label office.
  • Good working knowledge of various documents used in the Case & Label Dept.
