Overview (Scope of Role) Trinseo is seeking candidates to fill the position of R&D CASE Lab Technician. This position will be located in Midland, Michigan. Trinseo has approximately $5 Billion in sales, generates intercompany transactions between more than 30 countries including the sale of tangible goods between related Manufacturers and Distributors, the provision of intercompany R&D, technical & management services, licensing of intangible property and intercompany financing.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or related field required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or related field preferred
  • Previous work experience in R&D environment required
  • Previous work experience in emulsion polymerization technology and laboratory environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct R&D lab work for the CASE and Paper & Board Latex business segments of the Emulsion Polymers business.
  • Analyze polymer properties and conduct application performance testing of latex products.
  • Utilize good laboratory practices to generate reliable and quality data; Document scientific findings; Interpret and analyze results.
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment
  • Work safely with hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Conduct safety, housekeeping and environmental compliance tasks in support of the department and building EH&S programs
