The Case Dock Worker position at Hollandia Dairy involves ensuring that empty cases are available to production departments to meet production schedules. This role is crucial in providing assistance to the shipping department by moving trailers as requested, adhering to established company policies and procedures. The Case Dock Worker operates in a fast-paced environment, focusing on the orderly assembly, movement, and staging of returned milk cases and pallets to facilitate cleaning. Responsibilities also include removing damaged cases and examining returned products to classify them as acceptable or unacceptable for sale. The worker will slide case stacks from trucks using hooks or pallet jacks, ensure that conveyor tracks are filled with empty cases, and safely handle all materials. Prioritization of which trucks to empty first is essential, as is the handling of returned truck inventory products. The Case Dock Worker must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, and manage receptacles. Observing and cleaning case washers, maintaining proper documentation, and effective communication are also part of the job duties. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed. The ideal candidate should have experience in a food or similar manufacturing environment, possess basic speaking, reading, and writing skills in English for paperwork and computer training purposes, and have knowledge of GMPs. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to lift and move up to 55 pounds, as well as the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, and stoop regularly. The work environment may involve exposure to wet or humid conditions, cold or warm temperatures, and moving mechanical parts, with a moderate noise level.
