Supervises and oversees the Texas Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) Case Coordination staff and activities. Establishes program goals and objectives and oversees interagency collaborations. Develops program policy to comply with related laws and guidelines. Develops and implements program review and evaluation to assess program impact. Works under general direction with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention (CLPPP) Case Coordination Supervisor and provides oversight for all staff and programmatic activities of the CLPPP Case Coordination Team.
  • Hires staff and implements personnel procedures to include staff evaluations and performance plans, leave requests, schedules, and workload distribution.
  • Plans, implements, and monitors all case coordination program operations and activities.
  • Supervises program staff, assigns work, and provides direction on consultative services relating to child lead exposures.
  • Trains staff and oversees daily activities to ensure appropriate follow up actions are conducted for children with elevated blood lead levels.
  • Directs case coordination outreach activities and provides assistance to health care providers and local health departments through consultative activities.
  • Conducts blood lead and case coordination data collection and trains other staff on data collection procedures.
  • Provides technical assistance to program staff and external stakeholders in case coordination activities as needed.
  • Oversees the preparation of technical documents and reports for the program and makes approvals for dissemination to government agencies, health care providers, and other interested parties.
  • Evaluates budget requests and makes recommendations to upper management based on the needs of the program.
  • Establishes program goals and objectives of the Case Coordination Team.
  • Develops and revises program case coordination procedures and guidelines.
  • Develops priorities and oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of grant-related activities for the Case Coordination Team.
  • Develops requirements for contractual activities as they relate to grant deliverables.
  • Directs the strategy, implementation, and management of interagency collaborations to link children to recommended services.
  • Develops programmatic evaluation practices to inform the direction of interagency collaborations.
  • Reviews case coordination data and activities to ensure compliance with programmatic rules and procedures.
  • Develops program evaluation tools to measure overall programmatic activities and outputs.
  • Directs periodic program evaluation to assess case coordination activities and impact.
  • Develops and reviews programmatic productivity reports for grant reporting, management, and staff training development on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Develops, implements, and routinely reviews program policies to ensure compliance with related laws, administrative rules, and recommended federal guidelines.
  • Evaluates and approves the revision of program rules and regulations to satisfy program goals, and to comply with federal guidelines.
  • Monitors program compliance with rules on a quarterly basis.
  • Conducts presentations and training events for community leaders and professional groups to address community health needs; provides program specific and public health information; and stimulates interest in primary and secondary prevention activities.
  • Identifies statewide health and fiscal issues and develops plans to meet those needs.
  • Performs related work as assigned. “Other duties as assigned include but not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participations may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location”.
