This position will work in the Main Building of the San Antonio Food Bank with extensive travel. It will report and be accountable to the San Antonio Food Bank Neighbor Services Outreach Manager. Responsible for educating, providing application assistance for federal programs to potentially eligible persons, within the 29 counties we serve. Position will also assist and fulfill duties of county assignments, effectively works within a team or by oneself, and ensures all clients are handled efficiently and with a high degree of professional compassionate service. Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to meet and perform essential functions of this job responsibility/duty consistently: provide timely reports and feedback to appropriate personnel and always represent a professional and helpful presence and ability to adapt to programmatic changes to daily procedures. Objective: Employee must be able to perform each responsibility/duty consistently and within satisfactory program standards. This includes, but is not limited to, services to all incoming/outgoing calls, face to face client assistance relative to service delivery standards, and general inquiries related to the Neighbor Services department. Must be able to travel within coverage territory. Essential Functions: Support, demonstrate and incorporate San Antonio Food Bank Mission Statement, Vision into each job responsibility. Responsible for strict adherence to all outlined protocols regarding application security systems Maintain compliance to all HHSC/HIPPA policies and procedures. Learn and understand application assistance through Your Texas Benefits Initiate, establish and maintain a strong working relationship with partners and organizations. Attend food bank distributions, conduct outreach and assist where needed. Support teamwork Support and work towards maintaining individual application goal(s) Able to conduct well rounded presentations to partners and neighbors. Attend and actively participate in SAFB trainings and employee/department meetings. Communicate clearly and effectively with all PEP’s (potentially eligible participants) Promote good listening skills. Confer and communicate often with immediate supervisor. Assist with completion of quality application form for all federal benefit programs and food assistance referral and RPP referral. Comprehensive screening provided for all federal benefits and all appropriate SAFB programs. Knows and applies provided up-dated federal benefit policy revisions/modifications. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all aspects of department operation. Submit completed applications and paperwork for HHSC delivery within the appropriate designated time frame. Read, respond and be responsible for information relayed via e-mail communications from SAFB staff, clients and caseworkers. Attend assigned education sessions, pre-screening sessions, and/or information booths at locations frequented by low-income persons. Be able facilitate education sessions, pre-screening sessions, and/or information booths at locations frequented by low-income persons. Ability to exercise good judgment, courtesy, patience, and tact in public and in problem solving solutions. Availability to staff outreach events on weekends. Availability to work necessary hours to complete all expectations. Ability to work independently as well as in team structures. Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
