About The Position

This position reports to the Clinical Director. Hope For Youth is a nonprofit organization striving to provide positive outcomes for children, adolescents, and families. Seeking a passionate CASAC who has experience with trauma-informed, evidence-based treatments. Hope For Youth is searching for a full-time CASAC to provide substance use counseling for children, adolescents, and families from diverse backgrounds with a history or family history of substance use. You will be trained in evidence-based practices to provide services for children and families. Competitive salary with flexible hours. Requirements

  • CASAC or CASAC-T certification and High School Diploma required.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License in current and ongoing good standing with ongoing access to own reliable vehicle
  • Demonstrate computer literacy including Microsoft Office and electronic medical record system, upon hire
  • read/write reports and log entries, walking/standing/sitting for prolonged periods, bending/stooping, kneeling/squatting, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, repetitive wrist/finger movements, ongoing access to reliable vehicle and driving own vehicle for work

Nice To Haves

  • LMHC/LMSW/BA/BS preferred.
  • 1-2 yrs experience working with children/adolescents/families with history of alcohol or substance abuse preferred but will train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Function within the policies and procedures as outlined in program practice guide and employee manual
  • Adhere to state regulations and applicable code of conduct
  • Work within an interdisciplinary team to assist client in their overall functioning and achieve desired outcomes
  • Conduct Family, Individual, and group substance use counseling in the home, community and office spaces utilizing agency-identified Evidence Based Interventions best suited to meet the client's needs.
  • Support the child/family by providing them with the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to achieve optimal family functioning.
  • Complete documentation and related paperwork in a timely manner
  • Attend trainings and professional development as assigned
  • Attend meetings as assigned
  • Develop assessments and treatment plans with the child/family to restore functioning and/or ameliorate behavioral health symptoms and substance use with the guidelines provided by OASAS.
  • Offer flexibility within schedule to accommodate program needs .
  • Provide transportation for client to their service location as needed.
  • Ensure that service delivery is in a trauma informed, culturally and linguistically competent manner
  • Participate in treatment team, case review and other meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with referral resources and any other agency working with the family and the court.
  • Conduct developmental assessments when necessary and provide follow-up assessments as needed.
  • Discharge planning as needed
  • Perform other resulting and necessary work to meet the needs and requirements of the clients, the program, Hope For Youth, oversight agency and any other regulatory obligations
