About The Position

Adams Brown specializes in serving clients in various industries including construction and real estate, healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, professional services, closely held business, local government, and not-for-profit. The firm offers holistic tax, accounting, payroll, audit, financial advisory, business valuation, technology, wealth management, and trust services. The Ag CAS Accounting Manager will lead and manage engagement responsibilities for clients, working directly with A-level client contacts and gaining exposure to diverse industries in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role is suited for an ambitious, detail-oriented accounting professional with a passion for client service and an entrepreneurial spirit. It offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience with clients of varying sizes and to help firm leadership develop and implement best practices for departmental growth. The position also allows for work across multiple Adams Brown lines of service, expanding professional knowledge.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of demonstrated experience

  • Prior tax experience
  • Prior knowledge of basic agricultural operations and terminology
  • Active CPA license
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Prior success managing projects and people
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage various aspects of client engagement responsibilities.
  • Lead, manage, and execute multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Develop work plans, project timelines, and key milestones.
  • Perform and review core functions of client finance and accounting operations, including key account reconciliations, month-end close procedures, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Perform Outsourced Controller services for A-level clients.
  • Create and perform quality control processes.
  • Supervise CAS staff, external or internal.
  • Manage regulatory requirements and internal reporting deadlines.
  • Communicate frequently and effectively with client contacts.
  • Execute projects in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Identify client issues/deficiencies and assist with recommending solutions.
  • Assist with ad-hoc tax and/or consulting engagements.
  • Take ownership over internal firm initiatives.
  • Take a leadership role on the quality control of the Ag CAS department work.
  • Ensure new client setups are completed and maintained properly for seamless product delivery to professional staff.
  • Build consistency in processes and team results.
  • Identify process improvements and submit them to team leadership for approval.
  • Hold the Ag CAS team accountable as needed to meet objectives.
  • Assist with forensic accounting and other advisory engagements, if/when necessary.
  • Assist with firm initiatives and other duties as assigned.
