About The Position

The Maintenance and Facilities Team Member will be expected to embody Sun Day culture by leading with warmth and kindness in interactions with colleagues, and contributing to creating the positive, up-beat environment our Team Members and customers can feel. The Maintenance & Facilities Team Member is responsible for ensuring all car wash equipment, systems, and facilities are operating safely, efficiently, and at peak performance. This role performs routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize carwash downtime and support a consistent, high-quality wash experience. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, proactive, and thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. The Maintenance and Facilities Team Member reports directly to the Head of Carwash Operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
2+ years of experience in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical repair (car wash, automotive, or industrial experience preferred).
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with motors, pumps, valves, sensors, and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
Proficient with hand and power tools; able to safely operate lift equipment when required.
Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond quickly to urgent issues.
Flexibility to work weekends, early mornings, or evenings as needed.
Knowledge and understanding of computers, calendars and Zoom meetings
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, twist, kneel, climb ladders, and lift up to 75 lbs.
Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in the carwash industry and understanding of carwash fundamentals.
Experience maintaining carwash equipment and an understanding of how a carwash tunnel works.
Knowledge of MaintainX.
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems knowledge.
Electrical and plumbing knowledge.

Responsibilities

Develop preventive maintenance schedule and perform preventative maintenance on wash tunnel equipment, vacuums, water systems, and other machinery.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues as they arise.
Work with Site Leaders to conduct daily inspections of the wash tunnel and site to ensure all systems are fully functional and safe.
Maintain cleanliness of facility grounds, curb appeal, lighting, signage, and building systems (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.).
Develop and maintain parts inventory.
Monitor chemical usage and equipment calibration.
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used; communicate needs for replacement parts or tools.
Work closely with operations leadership to minimize downtime and ensure quick response to equipment issues.
Transport equipment, supplies or tools between sites or storage.
Comply with all OSHA, regulatory and safety standards and policies, company policies and environmental regulations.
Support site upgrades, installations, and new equipment rollouts.
Clean and organize mechanical rooms.
Clean interior of carwash tunnels and carwash machinery.
Clean restrooms, offices and break rooms.
