About The Position

This position will be at the Carthage, MS location and will report to the Live Haul Manager. The hours of work are from 6 am to 2 pm, Monday through Friday, with holiday and weekend work required. The role involves performing diagnostic, preventive, and repair maintenance on company heavy and light fleet vehicles, as well as any other duties assigned by the Live Haul Manager. All Tyson policies and procedures must be followed, including Animal Welfare and Bio-Security guidelines.

Requirements

• Applicant must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• Must show 4 years of mechanic experience on application.
• Must have a valid Mississippi driver's license with no more than two moving violations in the last two years, excluding D.U.I.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a company license.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Must possess advanced wiring skills for lights and harnesses on vehicles.
• Must possess advanced welding skills.
• Must be able to work in cold, hot, and/or wet conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic, preventive, and repair maintenance on company heavy and light fleet vehicles.
• Take road service calls as needed.
• Service vehicles (PM1, PM2).
• Perform PM6 - DOT inspections.
• Perform minor loader repairs.
• Perform minor motor, transmission, and rear end repairs.
• Perform major trailer repairs.
• Follow all Tyson policies and procedures.
