About The Position
The Transportation Procurement / Carrier Sourcing Coordinator supports the logistics team by helping build and maintain a reliable carrier network. This role focuses on assisting with carrier onboarding, gathering rates, researching market trends, and helping secure capacity for daily freight needs.
Requirements
- Interest in transportation, logistics, or supply chain
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to analyze basic freight or pricing data
- Comfortable working in Excel and learning TMS platforms
- Strong attention to detail and organization
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a logistics, customer service, or operations role
- Familiarity with freight terminology (truckload, LTL, spot market, etc.)
- Exposure to carrier interactions or load boards (helpful but not required)
Responsibilities
- Assist with sourcing and onboarding new carriers
- Collect rate quotes and support basic rate negotiations
- Help maintain carrier lists, routing guides, and required documentation
- Support team members during RFPs, mini-bids, and other carrier sourcing projects
- Research market conditions and provide simple pricing updates to the team
- Monitor carrier performance data such as on-time pickup/delivery
- Communicate with carriers to resolve minor service issues
- Ensure required carrier documents (insurance, safety info, etc.) are up to date
- Support continuous improvement efforts within the carrier network
