About The Position

As a Carrier Sales Representative, you’ll play a critical role in meeting the current and future transportation needs of our customers by developing and managing a strong carrier network. In this role, you’ll spend your day prospecting and cold calling carriers, nurturing long-term relationships, and identifying the most efficient and innovative ways to move customer freight. You’ll work closely with drivers, dispatchers, and carrier leadership while negotiating market-appropriate rates, coordinating shipment schedules, and ensuring freight moves smoothly from start to finish. Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Minimum of 1 year of transportation or logistics experience required.
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional business correspondence.
  • Working knowledge of basic geography, industry terminology, and standard industry math.

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop new and existing carrier relationships through prospecting, cold calling, referrals, and email outreach.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with your carrier portfolio to increase fleet utilization.
  • Develop relationships at multiple levels within carrier organizations, including Drivers, Dispatchers, Managers, VPs, and CEOs.
  • Communicate Trinity’s services and tools while maintaining strong customer and carrier relationships.
  • Manage, negotiate, and sell into the carrier network to successfully cover shipments.
  • Coordinate schedules with carriers to ensure on-time tendering of freight.
  • Monitor market conditions to negotiate competitive, market-appropriate rates.
  • Ensure all shipments are properly tracked and communicated within the TMS.
  • Deliver a best-in-class carrier experience through the Trinity Experience and service offerings.
  • Proactively identify issues and independently implement effective solutions.
  • Utilize data-driven resources to guide decisions and strategy.
  • Meet monthly and quarterly revenue, load count, and cost objectives.
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
