About The Position

The position involves managing all assigned loads within a designated territory on a daily basis, which includes procuring capacity and negotiating favorable pricing to enhance profitability. This may require working nights and weekends. The role also entails developing relationships with motor carriers to understand their capabilities and pricing structures, ensuring competitive pricing and capacity. Collaboration with Account Managers and Account Executives is essential to understand customer requirements and develop solutions to increase business levels. The position requires reviewing carrier service levels to ensure key performance indicators are met and developing corrective action plans when performance falls short. The individual will act as an intermediary for communication between carriers and Account Management to meet customer expectations and will work closely with Operations Associates to ensure tracking expectations are achieved. Additionally, the role involves providing pricing guidance for RFPs and market intelligence reporting to Account Management and Leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years' transportation experience or combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with industry capacity/pricing boards (e.g., DAT, GetLoaded, Truckstop).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates effective negotiation skills.
  • Detailed understanding of the truckload industry, including equipment types, carrier capabilities, pricing, and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of US Geography.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Account Managers and Account Executives to understand customer requirements.
  • Review carrier service levels to ensure key performance indicators are achieved.
  • Develop corrective action plans with carriers when performance is below expectation.
  • Act as an intermediary for communication between carriers and Account Management.
  • Collaborate with peers and utilize tools to increase Crane Solutions' carrier portfolio.
  • Work with Operations Associates to ensure tracking expectations are achieved.
  • Escalate potential carrier service failures to Account Management.
  • Provide pricing guidance for RFPs and pricing requests.
  • Provide market intelligence reporting to Account Management and Leadership.
