We’re looking for a talented Carrier Refrigeration Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration units for commercial trucks, trailers, and large equipment. You will work on a variety of heavy-duty refrigeration systems, ensuring their performance and reliability in keeping temperature-sensitive goods safe. Cross training for Detroit Diesel, Allison Transmission, and Fleet repair available Compensation: Hourly range up to $40/hour - This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in heavy-duty refrigeration repair or maintenance (preferably with commercial trucks, trailers, or industrial units).
  • In-depth knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification (required for handling refrigerants).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in refrigeration or HVAC preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license

  • HVAC or refrigeration certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, maintains and repairs refrigeration units, and all systems/components related to heavy duty tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units
  • Install, maintain, and repair heavy-duty refrigeration units on trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration system issues, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration cycles.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections to ensure proper functioning.
  • Recharge refrigerant systems and replace or repair parts, including compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
  • Performs pre-start up checks on equipment and communicates repairs necessary
  • Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, dealing with various temperatures and conditions.
  • Rebuilding components on equipment
  • Complete all Repair Orders in a timely manner ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate unit
