About The Position

Purpose Statement ROAR Logistics is seeking a dynamic and driven Carrier Sales Representative to join our team. As a Carrier Sales Representative with at least 2 years of experience in the 3PL industry, you will play a crucial role in our operations, working both independently and collaboratively to ensure the efficient transportation of freight while optimizing margins and fostering strong carrier relationships.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED required. Associate degree in Logistics, or one to two years of experience in the logistics industry preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in logistics operations.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Email System.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Logistics, or one to two years of experience in the logistics industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize industry knowledge and experience to source and secure qualified carriers for timely freight transportation, maximizing margins and minimizing risks.
  • Develop and maintain a robust network of carriers to support ROAR's customer base and pre-plan carrier equipment usage for optimal efficiency.
  • Analyze market trends, load history, and industry publications to make informed buying decisions and negotiate competitive rates with carrier partners.
  • Proactively reach out to carriers through outbound calls and other channels to capture truckload capacity and expand fleet usage.
  • Collect and update carriers' daily and weekly capacity/availability data into our Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Ensure compliance with ROAR's carrier set-up and compliance procedures and guidelines.
  • Dispatch drivers with attention to detail, inputting all pertinent driver and shipment details into the TMS system and providing ongoing communication and updates until completion.
  • Act as a problem-solver and solutions-provider, addressing issues promptly and effectively for customers, carriers, and internal associates.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the ROAR Management team.
