The Carrier Manager at C.H. Robinson serves as the primary liaison between the company and its carriers, focusing on building strong relationships, measuring performance, and driving service improvements. This role requires collaboration with both the customer and internal teams to enhance operational relationships and ensure effective carrier management in the transportation industry.

  • Collaborate to create performance improvement plans for carriers and track progress.
  • Continuously work to improve carrier management processes.
  • Manage carrier rates, lane bids, and maintain the master rate file.
  • Oversee rate and invoice exception management in partnership with the internal customer account team.
  • Publish and interpret carrier scorecards and service metrics.
  • Work directly with the customer on large RFP exercises.
  • Act as the escalation point for carriers to resolve open issues.
  • Participate in procurement projects, including data extraction, analysis, formatting, and presenting rates and related pricing data.
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned based on team and/or country-specific requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% (domestically and internationally).
  • Professional experience in procurement, carrier sales, transportation, logistics, and/or supply chain.
  • Exceptional facilitation skills, including relationship management, presentation, documentation, and accountability.
  • Strong root cause analysis and analytical skills.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with various levels within the customer organization (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to identify, understand, and execute strategies based on market trends and pricing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
